The Summer Book Tag – Sigrid

Hi there!

I know, I know, it isn’t really summer yet but it has been really hot here in the Netherlands and I needed something happy to write about, so here you go: Summer. Book. Tag. Let’s pretend it’s July and summer, mkay?

I first saw this tag on The Lit Love her blog: http://thelitlove.blogspot.nl/2016/07/the-summer-book-tag.html

?️ What book cover makes you think of summer?

I reckon something bright, which instantly made me think of… can you guess it? Eleanor & Park! I’m currently reading it -I’m at page 60 or something- and it’s such a comfortable read so far. I really should’ve listened to Amber and pick it up way earlier.

?️ What book has brightened your day?

Oh, hard one. I’m thinking The Selection by Kiera Cass. True, it’s a bit cliché, but don’t you just swoon when you read it? No, no, never mind. Anna And The French Kiss. Definitely Anna And The French Kiss. God, did I fall in love with that entire book. I finished it in a day, easily, because I just couldn’t stop reading. A great book for the hopeless romantic!

?️ Name a book with yellow on it.

Eleanor & Park! No, I’m kidding. Storm Front by Jim Butcher. Not very fitted for the summer, but it’s one of the little books I own with yellow on it. I haven’t read it yet, but I really, really want to. I got it for my birthday from my brother. Sibling goals, I know.

?️ What is your favourite summer beach read?

Truly, it’s just the book I’m reading at that moment. The last book I read on the beach, though, was Percy Jackson. Man, I was so addicted to that series last summer. Harry Potter also always does it for me.

?️ What action book had you running for the ice cream man?

I’m confused. Like, had the book me so frustrated I needed ice cream? Was it so hot I needed ice cream? I know I’m not a native speaker, but does this question even make any sense in general? So…. Half Wild by Sally Green, I guess?

?️ What book has left you with a bad ending?

I thought quite a while about this one and I’m thinking The Copper Gauntlet by Cassandra Clare and Holly Black. It wasn’t necessarily a bad ending, but it was quite weak and abrupt. I recently did get The Bronze Key in the mail and am so ready to read it!

?️ What book gave you the happiest feeling when it ended?

The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion. The ending was so fricking adorkable and when I read it (and this is how you know when it’s a good ending) I just went:  ‘Ah. I guess it’s not all bad.’

?️ What book cover reminds you of a sunset?

Even If The Sky Falls by Mia Garcia. The cover is incredibly pretty and I can’t wait to have it on my bookshelf. Man, why do books have to be so expensive?

?️ What is one book series you hope to read for this summer?

I had to go through my Goodreads list for this one and landed on The Mortal Instruments. Even though I’m barely getting through the first book, I really want to know what all the hype is about. I’d also like to reread and finish The Lunar Chronicles, this time in Dutch, because I really, really loved the series and never got past Scarlet.

That’s it, guys! That’s my summer book tag. Sweet and short, just how I like it.

Honestly, I hope every single one of you has the best summer EVAAAH.

Kay, bye!
